This is probably like my first journal entry, like ever but I just wanted to share my thought's on the position Regular show is in at the moment.

Personally, I think it is improving. I've always loved Regular show and it's been my favourite show for about 5 years now and has stayed with me for a long time and has always been my number 1 (my favourite.) But lately, it has improved a whole lot in ways I didn't even know needed improvement but now that it has, I realise that this is what the show's really been missing: emotion. The show has always been a good laugh but I felt it was lacking something but could never quite put my finger on it and I realised what it was in the Regular show movie.

On the new year of 2013: Rigby made a new years resolution to make 2014 "the year of the Rigby!" The characters on the show just saw it as Rigby just being Rigby and keeping it vague so he can't fail at it but the fans saw it as the show centering around Rigby in the upcoming year. But as it turned out, it wasn't, they centered it more around Mordecai than Rigby. But as the changing point between Mordecai and Rigby came was on the season finale of season 6 when Rigby admitted that Rigby and Eileen were dating, the switch was made (right after Mordecai's cringey speech of course.) But that's when they started gazing their attention on his relationship between Benson (starting "breakfast club) and Eileen. So personally, I think they didn't totally bail on the Idea of the year of the Rigby, they just delayed it.

They have also been giving a whole lot of character development: especially on Rigby. He's always been this bro who was always just slacking off, broing out and being a total jerk to his best friend. But lately they have given him more development and depth and has finally shown that he really does care about his friend but I think they've been working on that part since around the end of season 3. Breakfast club is a great example of character development. When: as a parody of the movie lunch club, they show 2 people who are completely different and in a sense: dislike each other bond and learn to get along as they try to decide which of them will resign. When they talking about their feeling rigby said "I don't even know why I do half the things I do, I'm expected to be a clown, so I'm a clown." He tells his boss stuff he probably has never even told his best friend.

Also, the beloved Eileen. Who in the start of the series, proved to have no interest in has finally gotten in a relationship with him. After a long time of hanging out, they have slowly grown together and Rigby's feeling for her have grown dramatically. This happened in 2014- 15 while they were centering the romance part of the show on Mordecai's drama. We didn't get to see them get together, we got to see just about as much of them as we now get to see of Mordecai and Margaret. Until it was revealed in "dumped at the altar" that Rigby and Eileen had been together for a few months and no one had even noticed like "hey, yeah, you know that ship that you've all been shipping for years, yeah, turns out that came out a while ago and we didn't tell you." Lately they've really been showing a lot of Rigby and Eileens relationship and growth.

You could say in a way he has Daddy issues. As has been deeply shown in the episode "Rigby goes to prom" he rates what his dad cares about on a scale "It's don, his car, everything else then me" and some extreme sh** goes down but in the end after everything that happens, Sherm shows that he actually does care about Rigby more than his stupid car.

Ok, wow this has been long and has taken me hours to write (even if it only takes a few minutes to read) I don't expect you to read the entire thing but if you do take the time: could you comment your thoughts down below or am I just spouting a load of hooey?

Regular show is my favourite show and rigby clearly is my favourite character.
Personally i don't ship rigleen, and I don't really like how rigby's character is evolving, he's just suddetly completly changing personnality:
All episodes focused on rigby is just him suddently going from "loser" to "winner" that' just doesn't make any sense.
I don't really feel that "bromance" going on between mordo and rigs anymore, which is pretty sad.
In general i've got to admit i'm slowly losing interest in following the show because for me it sure ain't as good as it used to be.. they're running out of ideas.

but you know, that's just my thought on the thing ;)
